Leo Lam

BOOK A SESSION WITH LEO

Leo believes that psychological well-being begins with developing a deeper understanding of the mind. Drawing on both Buddhist philosophy and modern psychology, he recognises that suffering can often be intensified by craving, attachment, and habitual patterns of inappropriate thought, emotion, and behaviour. Through greater self-awareness and mindfulness, we can begin to understand these patterns, respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity, and develop healthier and more fulfilling ways of living.

Before becoming a counsellor, Leo gained extensive management experience in large commercial operations. This professional background, together with his counselling training, has shaped his patient, approachable, and practical manner. He places great importance on creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, emotions, and personal experiences.

Leo has experience working with teenagers, adults, and seniors from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. His counselling approach is holistic and primarily based on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), while drawing on other therapeutic techniques according to each client’s individual needs and circumstances. His areas of focus include anxiety, depression, family and marital difficulties, interpersonal relationships, career concerns, and personal growth.

At the heart of Leo’s approach is the belief that every individual has the capacity to grow, change, and create a meaningful and fulfilling life. He aims to help clients develop greater self-awareness and mindfulness of their thoughts, emotions, and actions, so that they can recognise unhelpful patterns, break recurring cycles, build resilience, and move towards greater psychological well- being and personal fulfilment.
