Just like many in Hong Kong, I best describe myself as an amalgamation of cultures and perspectives. I’ve spent the majority of the past decade in the US and lived in India prior to that.
I began my career in psychology researching the connection between behaviour and brain development, gaining a strong understanding of the fragility of childhood and adolescence. As I went deeper and understood the significance of this work, I decided to transition into counselling. It’s easily been one of the most rewarding and best decisions I’ve made. I absolutely love my work–I love understanding your stories, learning your perspectives, and being part of the process that leads to those “aha!” moments.
It’s always easier to be objective when you’re not entrenched in a situation, and my role is to use this objectivity to help you uncover blindspots: Is there another way of thinking about this? Where is this coming from? Are you satisfied with the behaviour/outcome? I’d work to support and empower you on your journey.
I have experience working with anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, emotion dysregulation, bullying, and self-esteem. I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client by drawing upon my work in research, as well as my experience as an international school counsellor, educator, and parental stress line counsellor.
